September 1, 2020, Kuala Lumpur – Isuzu Malaysia, the official distributor for Isuzu vehicles in Malaysia, has launched 18 variants of the updated ELF light-duty truck range that are equipped with Isuzu Safety Plus platform.
The platform is a combination of safety system upgrades such as the anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, anti-slip regulator and supplement restraint system (SRS) airbag.
Apart from that, the updated variants also come with the full benefits of Isuzu’s S.E.E technology, which signifies the three core aspects of Safety, Economy and Environment. Safety is derived from introducing both the active and passive safety features, economy from the extensive warranty offered and environmental care from the B20 biodiesel compatible technology.

Isuzu’s ELF segment has been the top-selling light-duty truck for the past 10 years in Malaysia.The 18 variants updated ELF light-duty trucks are available in 4 to 6 wheelers.

How Does Isuzu Safety Plus Help To Increase Safety?
The Isuzu Safety Plus platform’s ABS helps to reduce the risk of skidding by preventing the wheels from locking up during braking on slippery surfaces, giving the driver more secure directional stability and solid handling. Paired with the EBD which functions by automatically distributing the ideal brake force for all wheels based on the weight of the load, road conditions and speed. It maximises stopping power by enabling a precise brake force distribution, giving the driver a greater vehicular control.
Apart from that, there is also the ASR function, which has an on/off option that can prevent the wheels from spinning during slippery road conditions and cornering by increasing road traction. This increases the lifespan of the tyres too.
There is also the SRS airbag, which reduces the impact and injuries to the drive in the event of a head-on collision. On top of that, the seat belt system also has a two key functions to ensure utmost safety.
Firstly, the seat belt pre-tensioner operates by retracting the belt instantly by removing the slack in the belt to firmly secure the driver. Secondly, the seat belt load limit releases the webbing force gradually so as to not exert too much pressure on the driver’s chest, which minimises bodily injury in the event of frontal accident occurs.
As for the B20 biodisel compatible, the updated Isuzu ELF range is readily compatible with B20 biodiesel renewable energy, as mandated by the government in line with promoting a cleaner fuel to increase Malaysia’s energy security, improve air quality and the environment.
