As demand for modern mobility vehicles accelerates, Malaysian drivers are increasingly prioritising safety, efficiency and everyday comfort. Data from the Car Fuel Type Summary (2000–2025) shows that adoption of electrified vehicles has surged by more than 300% over the past four years, underscoring a fundamental shift in driving needs and expectations.
The All-New Proxes Comfort
The all-new Proxes Comfort represents the next generation of Toyo’s luxury comfort tyre lineup. Developed in Japan, Proxes Comfort is engineered for modern mobility, combining advanced design with proven technologies to deliver a safe, comfortable, and confident driving experience on Malaysia’s diverse roads and in varying conditions.
Engineered to deliver the three qualities essential for Malaysian drivers: strong wet grip to handle frequent rain, stable handling through corners, and a comfortable ride for extended journeys, Proxes Comfort achieves these through a combination of advanced tread design, optimised contact pressure, and a refined tyre structure.
Key features and benefits
At the core of Proxes Comfort is a combination of an advanced tread compound, reinforced internal structure, and optimised tread pattern. Together, these elements provide enhanced speed stability and superior braking performance in both wet and dry conditions.
Enhanced speed stability: An optimised tyre profile reduces strain on the bead and belt edges, ensuring consistent ground contact at high speeds and during cornering. This contributes to greater stability during lane changes, tight turns, and sustained highway journeys, particularly under varying load conditions.
Superior wet and dry handling & traction: Conventional groove designs can lead to uneven contact pressure and reduced braking stability. Proxes Comfort addresses this through Toyo Tires’ Dynamic Taper Design, which helps the grooves maintain more consistent contact with the road surface. This improves pressure distribution, enhances block stiffness, and supports stable braking and handling in both wet and dry conditions, including during sudden stops, heavy rain, and stop-and-go traffic.
Compared with its predecessor, the Proxes CF 2, the Proxes Comfort achieves an 8% shorter dry braking distance and a 13% shorter wet braking distance, reinforcing its focus on safety across varying road conditions.
Proxes Comfort passenger car and SUV tyres are currently available in 14 sizes, with rim diameters ranging from 16 to 19 inches, with more sizes coming soon to meet diverse driving needs. Most variants feature Extra Load (XL) ratings, supporting the higher weight requirements of BEVs, HEVs, and PHEVs. Among the available sizes, 11 are EV-ready, with ride comfort and noise reduction rated 5/5, including EV-optimised noise performance. Designed primarily for B, C, and E segment vehicles, Proxes Comfort is suited for drivers who frequently travel long distances and spend extended time on highways. Recommended retail prices range from RM279 to RM698, depending on the size.
