February 06, 2026 KUALA LUMPUR– Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has officially launched the Volkswagen Golf R-Line in Malaysia, following its preview alongside the new Golf GTI last year.
Locally assembled at the Volkswagen plant in Pekan, the Golf R-Line features refined underbody panels and aerodynamic enhancements that improve airflow, stability and fuel efficiency
To mark its introduction, the Golf R-Line is offered at an attractive early bird price of RM179,990 for the first 50 customers. The price includes the Volkswagen Assurance Package (VAP), comprising five years of free maintenance, five years of mileage warranty, and five years of complimentary roadside assistance.
The arrival of the Golf R-Line further strengthens Volkswagen’s Golf line-up in Malaysia, sitting alongside the performance-focused Golf GTI while offering a more lifestyle-oriented alternative that blends comfort, versatility and sporty presence.
Powering the Golf R-Line is a 1.5-litre eTSI mild-hybrid turbocharged engine producing 150 PS and 250 Nm of torque, delivering improved fuel efficiency and enhanced driving refinement. Power is transmitted via a 7-speed DSG transmission, ensuring smooth and effortless performance that has long defined the Golf nameplate.
Exterior: Modern and Aerodynamically Designed
Its sharper lines define a more expressive, modern look from the front, with a new front bumper as an additional identifying feature.
IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights incorporate a new high-performance main beam. The redesigned IQ.LIGHT 3D LED taillight clusters, paired with dynamic turn signals and animated rear graphics add an extra element of style to function. A new highlight is the illuminated Volkswagen on the front bumper.
The Golf R-Line rides on ‘Coventry’ alloy wheels – a newly introduced design to the Malaysian market.
Colour options are Oryx White, Moonstone Grey, Grenadilla Black, Kings Red, and Anemone Blue.
