January 16,2026,Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – In line with rising demand for premium electric mobility, BMW Group Malaysia announced the arrival of two new fully electric models: the All-New BMW i5 eDrive40 M Sport Pro, the first fully electric BMW model to be locally assembled, and the All-New BMW iX1 eDrive20L M Sport, a long-wheelbase variant offering enhanced space and comfort. Together, the models further expand the Group’s locally relevant electrified line-up, delivering greater range, innovation, and versatility.

Benjamin Nagel – MD, BMW Group Malaysia officiated the unveiling the new models for 2026 at the Heritage Valley in Kuala Lumpur. BMW Group Malaysia has delivered over 10,800 BMW, MINI and BMW Motorrad vehicles in 2025, with 55% locally assembled, reinforcing its position as Malaysia’s Number One Premium Automaker since 2020.


The Group also retained its title as the Number One Premium Electric Vehicle Provider in Malaysia for the sixth consecutive year, delivering over 2,700 fully electric vehicles. Fully electric models accounted for 25.2% of total deliveries, up from 20.6% in 2024, reflecting rising demand for premium electrified mobility.

Across its brands, the BMW brand delivered over 7,700 vehicles in 2025. MINI Malaysia recorded more than 1,500 deliveries, achieving 8.7% year-on-year growth, while BMW Motorrad Malaysia continued its upward trajectory with over 1,600 motorcycles delivered, marking a 3.8% increase compared to the previous year.

Globally, the BMW Group maintained its leadership in the premium segment, delivering over 2.46 million vehicles worldwide in 2025, a 0.5% increase year-on-year. MINI recorded a strong 17.7% growth, delivering over 288,000 vehicles, while global deliveries of fully electric vehicles (including Rolls-Royce) rose 3.6% to more than 442,000 units, highlighting the Group’s continued momentum in electric mobility.

The Group’s strong 2025 performance was driven by robust product momentum, with the introduction of 37 new models and variants, reinforcing BMW Group Malaysia’s commitment to Technology Openness and delivering the Power of Choice across internal combustion, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric drivetrains.
