VOLVO C40 Recharge – ELECTRIC STYLE, SCANDINAVIAN SOUL

0 0

Aug 11,2025, KUALA LUMPUR – The Volvo C40 Recharge is Volvo’s first coupe-style electric SUV, and it makes a statement the moment you step inside. Clean lines, calming materials, and a quiet confidence greet you before you even press the start button. It feels safe. It feels green. It feels… different.

From the driver’s seat, there’s an instant sense of security—everything within easy reach, wrapped in a cabin made from eco-friendly materials. It’s not just about looking modern, it’s about feeling at ease, whether you’re in morning traffic or cruising on the highway.

Priced at RM 288,888 OTR without insurance, the C40 is locally assembled in Shah Alam and comes with a generous package—five-year unlimited-mileage warranty, eight-year battery protection, and free service and roadside assistance.

Under the sleek body, dual motors deliver 408 PS and 660 Nm, pushing the C40 from 0–100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds. Power comes from a 78 kWh battery, good for about 450 km on paper, with real-world figures slightly less. DC fast charging (10–80%) takes roughly 28–30 minutes, while a full AC recharge at home needs 7–8 hours.

On the road, it feels planted and confident. The steering is light but precise, the ride firm but never jarring. It measures 4,440 mm long, 2,034 mm wide, and 1,591 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,702 mm. Boot space is 489 litres with extra underfloor storage, plus a small front compartment for cables.

Up front, space is generous. At the back, legroom is decent, but the sloping roofline trims some headroom for taller passengers. The flat floor helps keep things comfortable on longer rides.

The panoramic glass roof makes the cabin feel bright and airy, but here’s the trade-off—in Malaysia’s heat, with no built-in shade, it can turn the cabin into a greenhouse.

The Volvo C40 Recharge blends style, safety, and sustainability into a confident package. It’s quick, quiet, and feels reassuringly solid, but a little more tropical-friendly thinking for the roof and shorter charging stops would make it even better.
