April 05,2022,Petaling Jaya – Hironobu Yoshimura has been appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia, succeeding Ms Madoka Chujo who will be taking up a new role at Honda Motor Co., Ltd. in the Automobile Operations Sales Supervisory Unit, Sales Division.
Hironobu Yoshimura with 34 years of experience at Honda, assumed office in Malaysia on 1st April 2022. He has held key roles in Corporate Planning, Business Planning, Marketing and After-sales services in various countries including Japan, Thailand and Pakistan. His latest role before coming to Malaysia was as President and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited.
Mr. Yoshimura said, “I am excited to take up this new role at Honda Malaysia. This unique and diverse nation is truly an important market in the Asia and Oceania region for us at Honda. My predecessors have built the Honda brand to become the success that it is now in Malaysia; as the forerunner in introducing Honda’s advance technology in the region, launching exciting new models and leading the Non-National Passenger Vehicle segment for many years. Most importantly, Honda Malaysia has persevered through and overcame many challenges over the years. I look forward to leading the Company in a post-pandemic business environment and to contribute positively towards the growth of the company.”
Mr. Yoshimura added, “I am also pleased to share that based on our internal data, three Honda models have ranked No.1 in their respective segments for Quarter 1 of 2022. The models are City, All-New City Hatchback and All-New Civic.”
Mr. Yoshimura’s predecessor Ms. Chujo, joined Honda Malaysia in April 2021. During her short but remarkable tenure as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Honda Malaysia,
Ms. Chujo attained notable achievements in the Company’s milestone. Under Ms. Chujo’s leadership, Honda Malaysia continued to maintain its No. 1 position in the Non-National Passenger Vehicle Segment for the eighth consecutive years since 2014. She also successfully launched two exciting new models – the All-New City Hatchback in December 2021 and All-New Civic in January 2022.
