October 26,2021,Kuala Lumpur-I had the opportunity to test drive the JMC Vigus Pro Pick-Up truck which was launched recently .
The all new JMC Vigus Pro 4 x4 pick- up truck was launched by Angka-Tan Motor Sdn.Bhd.(ATM). TheJMC Vigus Pro is locally assembled at the modern Tan Chong Motor Plant in Serendah ,Selangor.
Those interested to test drive the pickup truck can do so at 13 ATM dealerships across Malaysia.
I am not much of a “pick -up” fan, but the moment I got behind the wheel of the JMC truck, it gave me a luxurious feeling .
The electronic gearshift selector and the multi-functional steering for infotainment , cruise control and voice call and the gear shift paddles make it a memorable driving experience.
The electronic gear selector, normally found in premium cars, sits on the centre console, and selecting “Drive” and “Park “ is effortless.
Initial plan of taking the JMC up to Genting Highlands was foiled due to the heavy thunder storm . Anyway ,driving on normal road was a breeze in the 2.0 litre Puma diesel engine.
I was glad the seat was high and comfortable while the truck was raring to go.
The Vigus Pro is equipped with Hill Descent Control which modulates the braking when going down steep slopes.
The Hill Start Assist, ABS electronic Brake-Force distribution and electronic stability and Traction Control are standard features on Vigus Pro.
Vigus pro is powered by a 2 litre turbocharged Puma Diesel engine, which is mated to a 8-speed ZF auto transmission.
JMC Vigus Pro is priced at RM 98,888 ( for Peninsula Msia) and RM 100,888 (East Msia)-On the road without insurance.
