October 8, 2020, Petaling Jaya – Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of Hino commercial vehicles in Malaysia, has launched the new Hino 300 Series Pro light commercial vehicle.
The Hino 300 Series Pro is promoted with its tagline ‘Built for Ultimate Customer Success’, which continues to deliver on the company’s promise of Quality, Durability and Reliability (QDR).
Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) aims to provide trucks that are best suited to the needs of the local market to support their customers’ businesses, align to its mission – To be Malaysia’s most customer-centric and reliable commercial vehicle company and provide ‘Best-fit Products’ and ‘Total Support’.
As its new product line-up was introduced with the name Pro, it is to portray the identity of Professional, Protect and Profit, together with its main features of Strong, Spacious, Safety and Smart.
‘Professional’ represents the professional customer where this new product is designed for, that also requires a strong and spacious truck. ‘Protect’ means the outstanding safety and security that protects the vehicle and driver. As for Profit, it is to carry the initiative taken by Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia), to provide the best support to customers in valuing their business profit.
“Hino 300 Series Pro is designed for our customers’ business success and it is equipped with features towards the growth of technology and the need for changes in the commercial vehicle industry.
“Our new light-commercial vehicle, Hino 300 Series is one of our products that we have worked on to achieve customer’s satisfaction,” said its managing director Atsushi Uchiyama during the virtual launching event.
Also present was Hino Motors Ltd Japan president Yoshio Shimo, he said via an online platform, “We have sold over one million units of Hino 300 Series globally and we have been receiving good reviews and feedback from many customers all over the world. In Malaysia, we launched Hino 300 Series in 2004 and it was highly evaluated and praised for its Quality, Durability and After-sales Support.
“I am confident that this new Hino 300 Series Pro will further contribute to our customers’ business in Malaysia,”
This latest Hino 300 Series Pro comes in 4-wheelers and 6-wheelers. There are three models available for the 4-wheeler segment and its highlight model is the XZU600 AT that features the automatic transmission.
All the 4-wheeler models are powered by the Euro-3 turbocharged intercooler engine that generates 139 hp and 402 Nm of torque. One of the biggest enhancement is the gross vehicle weight (GVW), which was increased form 4,800 kg to 5,000 kg.
As for the 6-wheeler segment, it features the 1,660 mm rear tread dimension, making it the widest rear tread in its segment that allows to construct wider and higher body. The upgraded feature provides space to place two pellets side by side with sufficient space for forklift manoeuvring as well as able to cater for bulkier items.
Powering all the six 6-wheeler models, is the Euro-3 turbodiesel engine that produces 154 hp and 429 Nm of torque. Two out of the six models is mated with the automatic transmission, while the remaining is hooked with the 6-speed transmission with power assistance, allowing the driver to shift gear easily at higher speed. All Hino 300 Series Pro engines are compatible with B20 biodiesel.
On top of the enhancement above, the Japanese commercial vehicle maker also enhanced the safety of the Hino 300 Series Pro. Some of the features include the front disc brakes, anti-lock braking system, electronic brake force distribution, brake override system, side door impact beams, improved side mirrors, front and rear under-run protection, 3-point seat belt and the emergency guard impact safety cabin.
The company also took the opportunity to introduce its new smart telematics device called ‘Hino Connect’. It is a 7-inch touchscreen monitor that have features to support logistics companies in improving operational efficiency, improve safety and security with 24-hour call centre assist, encourage good driving behaviour, reduce unplanned downtime, and also monitor the truck maintenance. With all the features and by using it correctly, it will result in an increase of profit and revenue.
Apart from the basic functions like the radio, bluetooth connectivity, and the USB port, the Hino Connect has the SOS button, just incase of an emergency and the driver is not able to make a call out.
At the same time, Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) has also developed its mobile application ‘myHINO’, for users convenience to keep track the telematics information anytime through the mobile phone. The application also offers customers with benefits, rewards and assistance at a touch of a button.
The company also highlighted that with the new Hino 300 Series Pro, coupled with sending the drivers for training at Hino Total Support Customer Centre in Sendayan, Negeri Sembilan, it would expand the lifespan and improve the fuel consumption when the drivers uses it.
This is part of Hino’s fundamental of total support that aims to provide the best support in after-sales service for customers and brings the value of ‘Maximise vehicle uptime and Minimise vehicle lifetime cost’.
All the Hino 300 Series Pro is covered by a five year or 300,000km whichever comes first warranty, with terms and conditions apply.
