November 11, 2019, Petaling Jaya – Sime Darby Auto ConnXion Sdn Bhd (SDAC), the sole distributor for Ford vehicles in Malaysia, has announced that all 19 units of the limited edition Ford Ranger Splash had been pre-booked ahead of the Lazada 11.11 shopping festival.
“This success of the recent collaboration with Lazada demonstrates how fully Malaysian consumers have embraced eCommerce. It is also a proof point of the on-going strong demand and consumers’ confidence in our ‘Built Ford Tough’ Ford Ranger. said its managing director Syed Ahmad Muzri Syed Faiz in a statement.
The overwhelming success of this online sales event marks two milestones in the local automotive industry – the first pickup truck to be sold via eCommerce and the first vehicle in the country to be sold via ‘Chup Dulu’ – a promotional mechanics that allows buyers to reserve their product ahead of the shopping festival on Lazada.
Under the ‘Chup Dulu’ mechanics, customer were able to pre-book their Limited Edition Ford Ranger from October 28 until November 10, ahead of the 11.11 shopping festival.
“This achievement wouldn’t been possible without the support of our customers. We believe that customers are looking for unique experiences and exclusivity in their vehicles. Customers can look forward to more exciting programmes in the coming future, so stay tuned,” Syed Ahmad Muzri said.
The limited edition Ford Ranger Splash comes in all black and is differentiated by fluorescent ‘Ranger Splash’ decals on each side. It is equipped with matte black front kangaroo bad, special front grille, side mirror covers, rear bumper, sports bar, alloy wheels and fender flares. It is also has features like built-in toll reader and 360 º Around ViewMonitor Camera.
Running on the 2.0-litre single turbodiesel engine that is mated to the 10-speed automatic transmission the Ford Ranger Splash produces 178 hp and a peak torque of 420 Nm.
The limited edition Ford Ranger Splash is covered with a three years or up to 100,000km whichever comes first warranty and five years free maintenance or up to 100,000km whichever comes first service programme.
